GEDISA and PGXperts are launching PRiM Apo on the ApothekenPortal
Identifying medication risks faster, assessing them reliably, and providing patients with personalized advice
PRiM Apo provides an enhanced real-time interaction check. In addition to drug-drug interactions, it also takes into account relevant drug-food interactions as well as individual factors such as age or renal function. The application analyzes risks for more than 2,700 active substances and 65 foods and provides guideline-based recommendations for action. Based on the results, an individualized medication letter can also be generated for the treating physician.
„With PRiM Apo, we are bringing scientifically sound medication analysis directly into the digital day-to-day workflows of pharmacies. This supports pharmacists in efficiently assessing medication risks and further improving the care they provide to their patients,” says Sören Friedrich, Managing Director of GEDISA.
PGXperts scientific database is already used by more than 50 clinics and hospitals as well as over 100 office-based physicians. “With PRiM Apo, we are now making our expertise available to pharmacies as well. The solution combines sound risk analysis with ease of use in everyday pharmacy practice,” says Herna Muñoz-Galeano, Managing Director of PGXperts.
Outlook: Pharmacogenetics
The development of PRiM Apo is continuing: the analysis of pharmacogenetic factors is already in preparation. In the future, this will enable genetically determined drug metabolism to be incorporated more specifically into medication analysis and personalized counseling.
PRiM Apo is now available in the GEDISA ApothekenPortal under the “Medication Analysis” menu item. Discover now!
